The Plenum: The Space Right Behind Your Grease Filters
Pull a grease filter out of its track and you’ll see a chamber most diners never think about. That’s the plenum, and it connects the filter bank to the ductwork that carries exhaust up and out of the building. Grease that makes it past the filters can build up on its walls.
When Allen’s Duct Systems cleans a kitchen exhaust system, the plenum gets its own attention. With the filters out, our technicians clean the accessible interior surfaces of the plenum, the reachable exhaust opening, and the connected duct sections that can be reached through available access points.
